Principal Message

As we “Accelerate to Success,” I am excited to begin the 2019-20120 school year. Soon, our halls will be filled with T-Breds, and we are looking forward to the many wonderful stories from this summer’s travels.  This promises to be a year brimming with opportunities for all our students, as we strive to surpass the numerous accomplishments of previous years. Expectations are high after an amazing 2018-2019 school year where Hialeah High amassed a prodigious amount of accomplishments:

         School grade 2017 – C. 2018 – C, 2019 - C

8.2 million dollars in scholarships for 2019, up from 5.4 million in 2018

         Projected graduation rate of 87%

253 Merit Designations; 48 Scholar Designations; 27 Bi-Literacy Seals and 105 Superintendent’s Diploma of Distinction

1 Orgullo de Nuestra Juventud Winner

         4 Silver Knight Nominees

         87 Seniors signed Academic Scholarships

Boys and Girls Water Polo Regional State Champions,

Baseball District Champions second year in a row

Football District Champions first time in 15 years

Magnet Schools of America Merit School of Excellence 2017-2018, 2018-2019

         STEAM Designated School 2017-2018; 2018-2019

Advanced Placement Program offering 21 with an over-all passing rate of 64% up 10% from previous year 2018-2019

Sorry, but I felt it necessary to boast and reflect on a year that clearly illustrated the work ethic and drive of our students, teachers, and support staff in preparing our T-Breds throughout their four-year experience at Hialeah High. By providing a rigorous and engaging academic curriculum that challenges our students to think, problem solve, create, collaborate, and strive for success I know that we will continue to develop the leaders of tomorrow.  We believe that all students should graduate from high school prepared for the demands of postsecondary education, meaningful careers, and effective citizenship.  The 21st century is here, and our students are ready to meet its challenges.

At Hialeah High students participate in over 30 clubs and organizations supporting initiatives in the school district and our community. I am excited to see the accomplishments the 2019-2020 school year will bring, and you should be too. “It takes a village to raise a child;” I’m beyond honored to be granted the opportunity to lead our village into the future. Our motto this year is “Accelerating to Success”.
